Winston-Salem State University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program will be hosting Cervical Spine: Manual Therapy Management, a continuing education course provided by the Institute of Clinical Excellence, on May 19 -20, 2018. The instructor will be Dr. Jessica Davis, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT.
This 16-contact hour course will cover current best evidence in the physical therapy management of neck pain. Lecture material will summarize the developing body of literature regarding the subgrouping of cervical spine patients. Dr. Davis will present and discuss relevant safety concerns of evidence-based treatments with a special emphasis on cervical spine thrust manipulation. The laboratory component will focus on the safe and effective delivery of thrust and non-thrust manipulation to the cervico-thoracic spine and supporting mobility and motor control exercises.
The course will be held in Rm. 356 of the FL Atkins Building on the WSSU campus. The cost to attend is $595. Alumni of WSSU's PT program will receive a 50% discount, and should contact Dr. Tiffany Adams for registration and payment instructions.
