One Oak Kennels LLC

Official Labrador Breeder and Trainer specializing in hunting, search and rescue, special needs assistance, and much more.

One Oak Kennels was created to share an incredibly intelligent and driven Labrador Retriever and provide a vast range of training capabilities including hunting, antler detection, all aspects of law enforcement, and assistance. The owner, Mark Minton, former NC Wildlife Enforcement Officer and Canine handler, is a professional Dog Trainer and graduate of Ventosa Canine Handling School. Trained by the late Tracy Bowlin, a World renowned canine law enforcement trainer, Mark is skilled in all aspects of canine law enforcement. During K-9 school, Mark trained his black Labrador Bonnie on a wide variety of expertise including tracking, article detection, obedience, and scent detection. Bonnie was a driven Labrador with a tremendous tracking nose second to none. Mark and Bonnie tracked down many suspects, including a suspected murderer and a lost Alzheimer patient. Bonnie was also amazingly obedient with a calm demeanor, the perfect combination of everything wanted in a working breed. After Bonnie’s passing, Mark was fortunate enough to purchase her sister Maggie with an outstanding field trial pedigree line. Maggie is a remarkable black Lab that possesses all of the same qualities as her sister including a gorgeous silk coat. She is currently trained in obedience, duck hunting, and antler detection.
After Maggie, came Raging Diesel, who brought his own unique style, personality, and intelligence to the pair. He is an amazingly handsome Yellow Lab with many field trial dogs in his pedigree. He has an unbelievable drive and is super intelligent. He is currently trained in antler detection, duck hunting, obedience, and assistance. He is well known for his keen retrieval skills whether he is out in the field searching for antler sheds or simply “fetching” a drink from the refrigerator. These two Labradors were brought together to start One Oak Kennels, where the vision is to build the “model” Labrador breed with an incomparable working drive, intelligence, and demeanor.
Maggie’s first litter, born in 2012, produced hunting companions, obedient family pets, as well as a Service Dog (trained at One Oak) for a man with special needs. If you choose to purchase a puppy, you can rest assured it will be a great investment regardless of your need. You can be confident in the health and well being of the breed with a 30 day money back guarantee (pending Veterinary Exam), family pedigree, and AKC registration. If your interest is peaked but you still are not sure at this time, feel free to set up an appointment to view the puppies (ready June 1) and meet the parents, for a hands on experience why One Oak Kennels is your ultimate option for Labradors and canine training needs.
