Founded in September 2011, Project Pearl received our 501(c)(3) non-profit in April 2013. We are a volunteer run organization based in Winston-Salem, NC that currently works to assist Forsyth County Animal Control.

Our mission is to help and support FCAC with photography through the "Lend a Lens" program in which professional photographers donate their services. Project Pearl also provides outreach for shelter animals through social media. Through the generosity of our supporters, we also provide medical care for animals that are not eligible at the time of intake for the county adoption program. Once they receive medical care, they return to FCAC's adoption program.

We also dedicate a great deal of our finances to low-income, community spay/neuter. Since October 2011 we have helped increase adoptions by nearly 30%. Project Pearl believes that community-wide education results in better population control, lower stray intakes and reduces owner surrenders.

Project Pearl has also revitalized FCAC's foster program by helping animals do not pass their medical evaluation or are too young for the adoption process. Project Pearl does not take legal ownership of FCAC animals that enter our medical foster program, but we do pay for all their medical care and costs.

Animals listed as "Available for Adoption", are available at Forsyth County Animal Control:

We encourage sharing our photos, however downloading and printing photos that are someone else's Intellectual Property (I/P)/copyright is illegal. If there is a photo you would like a copy of, you need to seek permission from the owner by emailing: projectpearl@triad.rr.com

Whether the photo was taken by a volunteer, professional photographer or someone posting an adoption update, you must have permission and we are more than happy to put you in touch with the photos actual owner.

Project Pearls mission is to support FCAC with outreach through photography, medical fosters & education.

Mission Statement: "Sharing a love for people, animals and our community."

We wouldn't function if it weren't for the generosity of our amazing team of professional photographers, volunteers, foster families, veterinarians/staff and groomers.

Animals listed as "available" on Project Pearl's Facebook Page are available for adoption through Forsyth County Animal Control. Project Pearl makes no guarantees regardi

Brought together by a common bond of love for animals and our community, Project Pearl is hopeful to spread the news that people CAN make a huge difference by helping to promote awareness of the wonderful animals at the Shelter.
